Richard Baker has been the Company’s Governor since July 2008. Mr. Baker has been the Chairman of Lord & Taylor since July 2006. Mr. Baker also acts as the Chief Executive Officer of Hudson’s Bay Company as well as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HBTC. Mr. Baker owns National Realty along with his father, Mr. Robert C. Baker. Additionally, Mr. Baker is the non-executive chairman of Retail Opportunity Investments Corporation, a real estate investment trust listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange that focuses on retail properties located on the east and west coasts of the United States.
Mr. Baker is a graduate of Cornell University and currently sits on the Advisory Board of Cornell University’s Hotel School and Real Estate Program.
Bonnie Brooks is President of the Hudson's Bay Company, the world's oldest continuously operating company. In January 2012, Lord & Taylor became part of the Hudson's Bay Company, a move which combined two of North America's most iconic brands. Prior to becoming President of the combined companies, Ms. Brooks had served as President and CEO of The Bay since September of 2008.
Ms. Brooks has spent her career building high-end retail names across the world. Prior to joining The Bay in 2008, she spearheaded the turnaround and revitalization of another iconic retailer, Asia's Lane Crawford. As President of Lane Crawford Joyce Group, Ms. Brooks brought many of the world's leading brands into Greater China and Southeast Asia. She was responsible for all divisions of the company, including Lane Crawford, Joyce Boutiques, Pedder Group, and founded the LCJG Distribution Company, opening hundreds of stores in 9 Asian countries. Ms. Brooks was based in Hong Kong from 1997 2008.
Before her move to Lane Crawford Joyce Group, Ms. Brooks served as Executive Vice President, General Merchandise Manager and Senior Vice President of Marketing for Holt Renfrew, a leading specialty department store in Canada. She was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, merchandise buying and designer brand acquisition. Previously, she also served as Editor-in-Chief of Flare, Canada's largest and most important fashion and lifestyle magazine.
Since joining the Hudson's Bay Company, Ms. Brooks has collectively raised more than $17 million for charitable organizations, including the Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Olympic Foundation, and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. She was honoured in New York in December 2011 by the Volunteers of America.
Ms. Brooks holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. She has been recognized as one the Top 25 Retailers worldwide by Monocle Magazine and was named by Fast Company as one of the world's 100 Most Creative People in Business.
She was appointed by the Premier of Ontario to the Royal Ontario Museum Board of Trustees in 2010.
In 2011, Ms. Brooks was recognized by the Women's Executive Network as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women.
Most recently, in 2012, Ms. Brooks became a member of the Jobs and Prosperity Council appointed by Dalton McGuinty, the Premier of Ontario, and currently serves as the Director of Empire Company Limited.
Ms. Brooks divides her time between The Bay's Toronto headquarters and Lord & Taylor's New York headquarters.
Michael Culhane was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Company in February 2009. Mr. Culhane served as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Lord & Taylor from 2004 to 2009 and held other executive financial positions with the May Department Stores Company from 1997 to 2004. Additionally, Mr. Culhane was a partner with Arthur Andersen LLP.
Mr. Culhane is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Culhane has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Donald Watros was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Hudson's Bay Company in April 2009. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Watros held various financial positions at May Department Stores and served as Chief Administrative Officer for Saks Fifth Avenue for a period of three years.
Mr. Watros has a Master of Business Administration degree from Binghamton University and a Bachelors degree from Cornell University.
